Meet the Roller Family
So we’re "the Rollers": Mike, Nancy, and Courtney. It’s been a fast 8 years at SAC. What all started with an obedience class turned into a family hobby that we all enjoy. We spend a lot of time together, which may or may not be a good thing. We have been known to get a little competitive, especially Dad and I (Courtney). It all snowballed from that one obedience class and here we are now, a few dogs later and a lot wiser than when we started. Mom and Dad are chief course builders and I help. Mom subs as an instructor part time also. We all monitor practice on Saturdays.
Mike: I swore I would never run agility but finally, after watching Nancy and Courtney for about a year, I finally got my own dog, Shylow, a rescue BC/Aussie. Now I run Colin, another rescue BC and am starting a new BC pup, Meg.
Nancy: I got lucky with my first dog, Bear, who was easy to train, but then paid for it when I got Blaze. I’m finally getting some control over him. I also am training a little red BC named Jack. Eight years is a long time, but it’s gone by quickly and I’m really glad we’ve gotten so many opportunities from SAC. We’ve met a lot of good people and learned so much! I also started sheep herding not all that long ago with two of my dogs to help burn off some of their excess energy…
Courtney: I started agility when I was about 8 with my first dog, Lexi, which we call a “borderless collie” because she really doesn’t act like her BC roots say she should. After a few years I took over Dad’s rescue boy, Shylow and we’re doing pretty well. I’ve spent the last year training a brother to my mom’s red boy. His name is Logan. I also do herding with Logan and Dad’s little girl, Meg.
