Meet Nancy Roller
I grew up around animals out in the rural area of Kent where we had horses dogs and cats. I developed a love of animals from then on that’s grown over the years. If I could, I’d make animals my actual career but as with most of us, I can’t. I’m a manager for a Franz Family Bakery outlet store, which I’ve been a part of for many, many years. You’ll see me around the agility center with a cranky looking man (although everyone else knows him as the guy with the really fast dogs!) and teenage daughter which would be my husband Mike and daughter Courtney.
It all started with one dog and a much needed obedience class in November of 2000. From there it snowballed into eight dogs and a hobby that my family really enjoys doing together.
Now we have been monitoring weekend practice for about seven years, are chief course builders for our EAT trials, and I have been a substitute instructor for about a year. It’s been such a rewarding time being able to help others and share all the experience I have gained through my many classes with Doug and Diana.
I love being able to meet and work with all the different up and coming agility teams. It’s really exciting for me to see all the changes when I am able to work with a team I haven’t seen for a while. Our other hobby, sheep herding along with my real job keeps me from taking a full time teaching job which I hope I could gain once I have a little more free time and a few less commitments.
